These brightly painted and distressed telegraph poles with hand painted toppers have been strongly influenced by drawings and playdough models that were made by children at a local school, who studied  photographic images of the long-gone canal and railway bridges. This artwork is part of the Principal Towns and the Stairfoot Ward Alliance’s initiative to enhance the identity of the Stairfoot Basin area, Barnsley.
